Abstract :
A stability condition is developed for multivariable nonlinear feedback systems. The method has two outstanding features. First, a modified sector condition is employed to express the multivariable stability criterion. This is complemented by the use of high-order approximations to accurately evaluate the gains of nonlinear operators. An example demonstrates the utility of the method in defining stable operating regimes for chemical processes.
