Abstract :
Optimal pursuit-evasion problem between two aircraft including nonlinear point-mass vehicle models and a realistic weapon envelope is analyzed. Using a linear combination of flight time and the square of the vehicle acceleration as the performance index, closed form solution is obtained in nonlinear feedback form. Due to its modest computational requirements, this guidance law useful for on-board real-time implementation.
