Qualitative Classification of the Dynamics of a Class of Adaptive Feedback Systems

The necessary raw material for the development of qualitative design guidelines is a classification of the possible types of behavior that a system may present, their implication in terms of performance and a relation to designer selected parameters. In this paper we provide such a qualitative classification for a large class of linear plants within a poorly excited adaptive feedback system.
