Abstract
This paper deals with adaptive force control of the two dimensional milling process. The resultant feed is adjusted to regulate cutting force at the desired value. The distribution of the feed to x and y axes is accomplished by the CNC interpolator. Several methods are presented for softening large overshoot of cutting force caused by sudden changes in the workpiece geometry. Experimental results are presented to validate the proposed approach.
