Abstract :
Some low-cost flight simulators, limited by their hardware, cannot have good flight dynamic models. This paper provides a possible solution using the concept of system identification. The measured data taken from the flight tests of a high fidelity flight simulator. The flight dynamic model of the low-cost simulator is used as the candidate model. The adjustable parameters in the candidate model are estimated by matching time-domain data. A practical example is given which demonstrates the implementation of this method.
