Abstract
It is commonly believed that the danger of voltage instability and collapse in heavily loaded power networks can be significanty reduced by secondary voltages control. Such voltage regulstors must alter the befurcation structure of the network. Issues involved with the design of regulators which do so are discussed and illustrated.
