  • Abstract
Chaos has many external similarities to random motion, but displays repeatability and finite Instead of infinite Kolmogorov entropy. in the phase space this can be seen in the repetition of the base fractal image at different magnifications. Chaotic models of small order can display complex characteristics. One example is that of plasma in a cyclotron periodically impulsed by a magnetic field. This results in an applied force along the direction of travel, increasing the energy of the plasma. The plasma then forms stochastic rings within the magnetic field. The plasma shows a greater tendency to escape the field as the disturbance amplitude K increases.
