Abstract
LIVE is a truss structure with slewable panels developed at the Ohio State University for experimentation on the coupling of rigid and flexible dynamics and control-structure interaction. The present version is based on a 3-D truss with two panels at the bottom. the panels can be rotated independently to induce truss vibrations. Vibration damping on the truss is to be accomplished with proof-mass actuators mounted on the truss. In this paper we discuss the setup, hardware, modeling issues and initial experiments.
