Abstract
A nonlinear control strategy that combines the Internal Model Control (IMC) structure with a sliding mode controller (SMC) is presented, and applied to a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR). This hybrid controller achieves an asymptotically stable output response in the presence of unmeasured disturbances and unmodelled dynamics around all equilibrium points.
