Abstract
Transient response has always been an important issue in adaptive control. A recent paper presents a useful method to control transient response, but it requires precise knowledge of the plant high frequency gain. The following paper shows how to use high order tuning to solve this problem without this prior knowledge, and recent work indicates that simplication of the tuning error, or "augmented" error, as well as elimination of additional prior knowledge requirements, may be possible.
