Abstract :
The present paper investigates a novel type of voltage-clamped VVVF high-frequency power inverter comprising fast-switching SCR´s and GTO´s (or Power Transistors; PTR´s) which provides power regenerating and voltage-clamped effects, and its useful modified circuit versions. The state-of-the art high-frequency inverter circuits proposed herein operate stably and efficiently in the frequency range of 10 kHz to about 100kHz or more and are suitable for the large-power high-frequency switching DC-DC converters. The basic working principle of the latest prototype of voltage-clamped VVVF high-frequency inverter is described for an equivalent load model under an automatic tuned tank circuit load, and its salient features are pointed out from a practical point of view. The steady-state performances of trial SCR-GTO hybrid voltage-clamped high-frequency inverter with VVVF control function are illustrated and discussed on the basis of frequency control characteristics, external load variation characteristics and voltage regulation characteristics.
