Abstract
A means of coding a spread spectrum signal so that it appears noise-like in both amplitude and phase is given. Binary PN generators are used to develop the code which becomes Gaussian for a large number of generators. Performance, in terms of signal-to-noise ratio, is asymptotically the same as that of typical bi-phase PSK modulation, or unspread binary communications systems, for large spreading ratios.
