Abstract :
In this paper the double threshold acquisition scheme in frequency hopping spread spectrum is described. The methods used to calculate the two thresholds are analysed mathematically. A computer simulation of the communication system is used to determine the mean and the variance of the acquisition time. The comparision between the single threshold and the different double threshold schemes is made analytically and experimentally.
