Abstract :
In this paper we present two scheduling algorithims for Satellite Switched/ Time Division Multiple Access(SS/TDMA). Both of them are optimal in the sense of maximizing transponder utilizatioirn. In addition the algorithms have certain other improved characteristics such as;1) both generate small number of switching modes, and 2) the overall computational complexity has been reduced. In the first algorithm the idea of Latin Squares is utilized while in the second a new approach of the problem has been, introduced, the approach of transmitting simultaneusly "nonconflicting" submatrices of the traffic matrix.
