Abstract :
A new concept is presented for real-time derivation of the amplitude and phase distribution for phased-array antennas. A compact, experimental optical processor is described that is capable of spot beam formation and beam-steering of antennas with large numbers of elements. Experimental results are given for optical-to-RF conversion of two-dimensional amplitude and phase distribution through fiber waveguides.
