Abstract :
This paper describes the result of several research projects conducted over the past three years by Management Consulting & Research, Inc. (MCR) to build what we believe is the most comprehensive communications-electronics cost data base ever attempted. The data base structure will be presented to illustrate the complexity of systems and components included. A userfriendly data base management system called, "MCR Communication Resources Statistical Analysis/Research System (MCR STARS)", has been developed for a PRIME 750 computer and, in a somewhat smaller version, for the IBM-PC/XT computer. This conceptual system has been successfully tailored to meet the requirements of several different organizations.
