Abstract :
This paper presents performance analysis for a hypothetical large space-based network for ballistic missile defense consisting of battle management and weapon platforms. The results show the relative performance of the communications network for each of the following types of networking techniques: 1. Fixed Routing 2. Adaptive Routing 3. Adaptive Routing with Link Reconfiguration. Performance is given in terms of number of isolated nodes and delay as a function of number of nodes destroyed. The results show a very high degree of survivability when the network uses a combination of simple adaptive routing and link reconfiguration algorithms.
