Abstract
In a multi-user cellular network, the sum-rate capacity of a single-input single-output (SISO) downlink over flat Rayleigh fading channels asymptotically decreases to zero while the feedback threshold is large enough when Outage-Accepted Scheduling (OAS) is employed. In this paper, we consider a selective feedback scheduling and present an improved OAS where the sum-rate capacity will be promoted by a wide margin with the aid of a fixed relay. Furthermore, since the location of a relay plays an important role on the performance, the effect of different link power gains on the capacity is also evaluated. The simulation results show that the nearer to the user for the relay, the better performance gain we obtain.
