Abstract
The probabilistic preemption-based (PPB) mechanism is one of the effective alternative approaches for providing quality of service (QoS) in OBS networks. We present the analysis of the burst loss probability for the PPB mechanism for a finite number of sources. We compare the analytical results with simulation results, which validate our analytical model.
