  • Abstract
A wireless sensor network is a data communication system that consists of from several to thousands of tiny wireless sensor nodes. These battery-powered sensor nodes cooperate with each other to accomplish data transmission. In-network data aggregation is essential for wireless sensor network where energy resources are limited. But most of present routing protocols havenpsilat given too much attention to it. By analyzing the disadvantage of present routing protocols in data aggregation, this paper proposes a intra-cluster routing protocol - IHMDA (interval-hoop multi-path data aggregation), which emphasizes the significance of data aggregation, and analyze the energy consumption in theory. In IHMDA protocol, information-queue is set by cluster-head to establish the next-hop node, and each sub-area in cluster forms a Hamilton cycle, so that data aggregation can be done through the cycle. Simulation results illustrated that IHMDA could keep the balance of energy consumption in the sensor network, which can prolong the lifetime of the network.
