Abstract :
While single antenna system performance can suffer in multipath environments multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna systems can take advantage of rich multipath and offer significant cost-performance benefits. Therefore, performance with MIMO systems has to be assessed referenced to the environment. This paper presents a study of WiMAX MIMO antenna modules in various environments. It is shown that lower gain antennas in rich multipath offer very cost efficient alternatives to higher gain antennas.
