Abstract :
Paper presents the evaluation of the impact of the phase centre misplacement caused by the virtual phase centre effect that occurs in the neighbourhood of metal objects, on the accuracy of the local positioning system. Simulations of the modeled scenarios as well as experimental verification of the phase centre misplacement are presented. Experiments were performed for two types of antennas, one with the linear and one with the circular polarization.
