Abstract :
In this paper a compact substrate integrated waveguide resonator with CSRRs is presented. LCP substrate integrated waveguide is loaded by periodical arrays of stacked CSRRs at its top and bottom surfaces. Resonators are designed and simulated with a resonant frequency of 9 GHz. Proposed structures are 28% more compact than their conventional substrate integrated counterparts. This is achieved by modification of electromagnetic properties of the waveguide by means of creating artificial media inside the waveguide resonator.
