Abstract
Summarizing previous antenna performance studies, an extensive simulation framework for cellular systems and multiple antenna systems is given. Based on it, an urban macrocell scenario is considered for benchmarking with two differently polarized antennas in seven different setups with varying base station and mobile antenna distances. For comparison purposes with the very much scattered data found in the literature the ergodic capacity was chosen as evaluation criteria for three different multiple input multiple output (MIMO) power distributions.
