Abstract
Results of numerical analysis of mixture preparation and combustion in SI engine with prechamber are presented in the paper. The numerical model of the engine cycle was built using KIVA-3V code. Calculations were carried out for four values of air excess number: 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0. Spatial distribution of air-fuel mixture in prechamber and main combustion chamber of the test engine was obtained as a result of modeling. Pressure and temperature variations in function of crank angle as well as spatial distribution of above mentioned quantities at selected crank angles were determined.
