The Study of Information Services in Manufacturing Grid

The manufacturing grid (MG) is a grid application in manufacturing. It is a standard, normative platform to realize the networked manufacturing. The resources in the MG, such as computing resources, manufacturing resources, technical resources, organizational resources and so on, are characterized by highly autonomic, heterogeneous and distributed. They must be managed effectively to ensure the stabile service provided by the MG to users uninterruptedly. Information services designed to support the initial discovery and ongoing monitoring of the existence and characteristics of resources, services, computations, and other entities are a vital part of MG system. We present here an information services that includes resource discovery & monitoring, security and robustness requirements.
