Abstract :
In this paper, we propose and develop an interactive system based on ARtoolKit, which can be employed to pick up points in spatial environment. This system is composed of four parts: Detection Pen (DP), single marker, webcam and computer. It is tracked using markers and the system translates the center position of DPpsila s leading marker to the location of pen-point within the webcam coordinate system. Therefore, the positions in physical world can be detected by acquiring the pen-point coordinate within the single marker coordinate system. As the markers-based image segmentation for a small region is swift, the process is a real-time. The experimental result indicates that it is able to pick-up points steadily. In addition, the system is easy and quite convenient to operate. So it has good potential in 3D interaction design.
