Abstract :
With the development of Web service technology, it gives us a chance to solute the difficult problem in spatial information sharing. This paper proposes a service-oriented model, named SISM (Spatial Information Sharing Model). This model includes three aspects: (1) a service-oriented architecture, which comprises the Geographical Services Bus layer and the Geographical Data Bus layer, is adopted to improve the efficiency of end-user service sharing; (2) a comprehensive geo-ontology, which is described by Web Ontology Language, is introduced to eliminate conflict between the differing semantics of Web services; (3) a service flow controller strategy, which can create a linear order of the SIWS and improve the quality of service in the spatial information domain. Finally, a prototype of this model has been developed on the Java platform, and has been successfully applied as part of a Chinese national project for science data sharing platform.
