A decorrelation technology based on eigen-beamforming in multi-users MIMO systems

Beamforming technology in the downlink of MU-MIMO promises high gains and efficiency. However, the spatial correlation of antennas leads to a decrease on system performance. In this paper, eigen-beamforming technology is proposed to wipe off the correlation of channels in MU-MIMO. The correlated fading channels are converting into independent ones after beamforming. System performance influenced by the correlation coefficient and the number of multipath is also analyzed in this paper.
