Abstract
In this paper, antenna selection is applied to space time block coded (STBC) single carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) system. By choosing a subset of all available transmit or receive antennas, antenna selection can retain the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) signalling while reducing system cost. Optimal antenna subset is obtained in the bit error rate (BER) and capacity criteria with channel state information (CSI), which is assumed to be well known at the receiver. Transmit antenna selection is fed back through a low bit rate, zero-delay and error-free channel. The system structure is shown and the uplink performance is investigated in spatially correlated fading channels. Some representative simulation results are given to validate the analysis.
