Abstract
In this paper, we propose a high data rate UWB system with optimization of orthogonal pulses. The system is consists of several parallel transmitting branches, and the orthogonal pulses are used in each parallel branch. The receiver uses the orthogonal pulses as the correlated template to receive the transmitted signal. PPM and PSM are combined in the proposed system, which using orthogonal Hermite pulses as PSM and using each orthogonal pulse as PPM. We use least area criteria (LAC) as the optimization criterion in the system. Simulation results demonstrate that this system can not only meet the FCC spectral mask using optimization of orthogonal pulses, but also have a better performance of high data rate than others in the same conditions.
