Abstract
In view of the fact that the experimental treatment of cDNA microarray, the size and shape of the spots is different from each other and some spots have the artifacts with low density to make them very difficult to detect. This paper presents an approach to detect edges of the microarray images. The proposed Geronimo-Hardin-Massopust GHM multiwavelet based edge detection algorithm offer the improved performance for microarray image. This development is achieved by the fundamental properties that simultaneously satisfy orthogonality and symmetry of GHM multiwavelet. Also multiwavelets are having two or more scaling and wavelet functions and hence better approximation than DWT as evidenced in the obtained results.
