Abstract :
Nanoelectronics is defined as electronics with value added by nanotechnology and/or nanomaterials, giving us solutions to the problems of the next ten years such as information explosion, increased ICT power dissipation, and security problems. It is also expected to create new markets or industries since it will provide a future human-centric and low-carbon ubiquitous network society. In this presentation, R&D activities on nanoelectronics in Japan that aim for such a society are described, and how to promote R&D to make such dreams come true with internal and/or international collaboration or competition is discussed.
