Abstract :
Nonlinear refractive index of Ar, Kr, N2 Ne, Xe, and air has been determined from the spatially dependent nonlinear spectral phase of weak femtosecond pulses propagating in sample gases under pressure between 0.05 mbar and 1 bar.
