Abstract :
Resonantly-pumped laser action based on 3F3 rArr 3H4 transition of Pr3+ ion is reported for the first time. Pr3+:RbPb2Cl5 laser demonstrated slope efficiency of over 21% at 1647 nm despite the marginal initial sample quality.
