Abstract
Freehand sketching is used widely in human´s everyday life for expressing some ideas, especially in notebooks, PDAs and mobile phones. Therefore, the understanding of a sketched picture is the major problem in these devices. One of the most fundamental steps is converting the original digitized pen strokes in the sketch into the intended geometric objects using vertex detection and approximation. In this paper, we are working on the vertex detection for freehand sketching recognition, which would combine multiple sources of knowledge to provide robust early processing for freehand sketching.
