Abstract :
Particle system is an efficient approach to simulate fountain effect. Presently, a few of existent approaches are with the problems, such as complex and time-consuming in their algorithms, not vivid in their effects. This paper, presents a simulation approach based on particle system to the three-dimension fountain and realizes it on GPU. The basic idea is that, under the basis of physical dynamics principle, analyze the fountain movement, make up the model of fountain particle system and then realize the three-dimension effect of fountain. First of all, the basic principles of particle system was introduced. Secondly the model of fountain particle system were described, including particles generation, the movement of particles and disappear of particles, then the fountain system was implemented. The experiment shows that the effect is vivid and the simulation is fast in computer.
