Abstract :
E-learning has become a hot method for learning with the overall popularity of the Internet, which makes learners absorb new knowledge without restrictions on time or place. As an important type of distance education, an essential link in the application of e-learning, video-on-demand (VOD) technology meet the requirement of multimedia source by learners. In the paper, by using the technical advantage of grid technology, we put forward a better solution for traditional single VOD server which is easy to cause a bottleneck in processor performance and storage capacity and so on, and present an integrated approach of multi-VOD server with grid technology. This proposition will benefit learners in pursuit of knowledge undoubtedly in the future.
