Abstract :
A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a collection of smart sensor nodes which are organized into a cooperative network. Based on wireless communication technologies, IEEE 1451 standards integrate a variety of smart sensors with wireless radio implementations using protocols to communicate between the sensors and applications. Two ways are presented in this paper to develop a wireless sensor network based on IEEE 1451: wireless TIMs and wireless NCAPs. The design of these two WSN solutions are detailed described. Additionally, the software architecture of TIMs and NCAPs are discussed.
