Abstract :
This paper presents a mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model for the change planning of spin pack in polyester filament plants. The model minimizes the total cost based on the cost of cleaning and the cost of operating and takes into account changes in production rates and even changes in the properties. This is important for the case of polyester filament production in the chemical fiber plants that process different specifications of fiber. The MINLP formulation was applied to a real-world manufacturing facility and solved by a tabu search (TS) algorithm. The computational results are compared to manual in the plant and verify the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed methods.
