Underground cabling strategies in a rural area electricity distribution network

The role of electricity has become more significant in today´s society; electricity distribution has to be reliable and there should be no outages. Furthermore, ageing of networks is an issue that has to be taken into account. Underground cabling will be one of the basic elements in renovation of rural area overhead (OH) line distribution networks. Cabling improves network reliability and has an impact on the outage costs; as a result, the lifetime costs and thereby the total costs of the network are reduced.
