Abstract :
This paper presents a methodology to deal with voltage stability and system loss reduction in distribution systems. In order to come up with sensitivities indicators, the Newton method must be employed, and a rotation in the data is executed. Then, the buses most indicated to experiment shunt compensation for active and reactive loss reduction and voltage stability prevention are identified. The tests are executed with the help of a real distribution system.
