Floating new ideas in development [Built Environment Floating Villages]

The paper states that the arrival of container ships on the world´s trading routes revolutionised the quanitites of cargo and the manner in which it was transported. It also transformed the way in which cargo was handled and thereby the look and feel of docs in the world´s great cities. The paper discusses the construction of floating buildings that can be made secure by anchoring or connecting them to piles driven into the bottom of a dock river and attaching them to a device that allows them to rise of fall with water levels.
