Abstract
A well-posed mathematical model of a radiometer with noise and monochromatic heterodynes is proposed. It is shown that a radiometer with a noise heterodyne operates more effectively than a radiometer with monochromatic heterodyne. A prototype of a radiometer is designed and built, which allows using a noise source as well as a sinusoidal source as heterodyne. The operative embodiment of a radiometer demonstrated an increase of sensitivity by 30 dB using a noise heterodyne.
