Abstract :
The availability of a radially two-layered sphere resonator as a permittivity sensor of surroundings is studied. In centimetric wave band, the numerical calculations of the resonator with a quartz inner layer and a polikor external layer are made at its placement into different surroundings. It is shown that the sensitivity of the frequency variation to the permittivity variation of surroundings is determined by the external layer thickness.
