Abstract :
This paper presents the newly discovered leaky properties in the well-known microstrip structure with finite substrate width and finite ground plane width. For the first time these phenomena within such structure are investigated. These modes affect the original first higher-order leaky mode of microstrip line and radiation pattern near the coupling frequency. The existence of these modes is verified through the experiments and simulations.
