Abstract :
The support rigidity determined by the edge angle is one of key factors that affect burr shapes and sizes in this paper the burr/fracture formation process of different edge angle is simulated with elastic-plastic nonlinear element method based on ABAQUS. The influence of edge angle on burr formation processes in high-speed machining 2024 Al-alloy is analyzed. Analyzing the influence of edge angle on burr sizes and shapes based on equivalent plastic strain and negative shear angle. The results have investigated the mechanisms of burr/fracture formation fundamentally, which is the basis of burr minimization.
