Abstract :
In this paper multi-cell topologies of high voltage (HV) 50 kV, high frequency (HF) 20 kHz, multi cores transformers are considered. The transformer is used in the pulsed power application system. The main considerations to be taken into account for the transformer are: high voltage capabilities, small size and weight. The HV, HF transformer is the main critical block of the power electronics systems. The transformer to be design must has high electrical efficiency and has to be optimised by the number of the cores. Design considerations and design procedure for HV, HF transformer are presented. The multi-core transformer topology is used. It has been investigated analytically and through software simulations. The new design procedure is developed.
