Abstract
The conventional ways of high voltage measuring has some intrinsic shortcomings. With the recent improvement in digital measuring techniques and computers, it has been replaced by the digital automated measuring. A cylindrical dielectric-rod waveguide system has been designed for the purpose of measuring some physical quantities (electrical current, temperature) on high voltage potential. In this paper, we propose the power generator part of the total system which generates high frequency signal. This power generator contains of 2.4 GHz low power signal generator attached with a power amplifier. The signal generator is implemented and verified in a laboratory design. As the result of this verification, we demonstrated that the implemented power signal generator produces a sufficient signal strength needed by the electronic unit at the receiving end of the total system.
