Abstract :
In this paper, a simple online identification method for single-input single-output systems utilizing the idea of sliding mode control is proposed. The method uses a simplified model with an adjustable parameter of the plant, adjusts the parameter so that the error between outputs of the plant and the model for a step input converges to zero, and gives an identification result as the adjusted parameter. Through a single identification procedure one parameter of the plant can be obtained. The simulation result shows that the method is useful for parameter identification of plants.
